The Merrymoor Inn was built during the 1930’s, the architecture strongly reflects this period and is something we were sympathetic to during a full refurbishment during 2007.

Originally a local stores, then a restaurant, the Bennett family took over the premises in 1961, created extra bedrooms, obtained a full licence and turned it in to the traditional inn we can still all enjoy today.

Lynne came here 50 years a go and Dudley joined her shortly after. They have run the Merrymoor Inn with a passion and charm all of their own for the last 50 years. Very much a stalwart of the local community, Dudley has been a champion of fundraising for charity and the Merrymoor has remained a huge favourite with locals and tourists alike. Dudley was awarded an MBE in recognition of his charity work, an accolade he credits to a loyal and supportive clientele.

Son Nick is now at the helm, but Dudley and Lynne are still very much a part of the everyday running of the bar and restaurant areas.

With fresh impetus, Nick and his wife Jen have now developed the Emerald Beauty Salon, a purpose built and beautifully designed spa facility within the Merrymoor Inn. Jen is a fully trained therapist and features the Spa Find range of treatments within her salon. Spa Find luxurious mineral treatments utilise the natural powers of mud, salt and seaweed to tone and firm the body and face, ease muscle tension and deeply relax the body and mind.

The Merrymoor Inn is situated on the north Cornwall coast almost mid way between Newquay and Padstow on the most dramatic twisting coastal road. A visit to the Merrymoor Inn will remind you what driving is all about... so much more than just the A to B of travelling, enjoy the journey.

Bedruthan Steps, Watergate, the Extreme Academy and the renowned 15 Restaurant opened by Jamie Oliver are only a bay away towards Newquay and Padstow Harbour is home to Rick Stein’s four restaurants; The Seafood Restaurant, St Petroc's Bistro, Rick Stein's Café and Stein’s Fish & Chips. The Scarlet Eco Hotel shares our most beautiful bay and stunning views.
